7th & 8th Grade Math Teacher – Our Lady of the Assumption School, Lynnfield, Massachusetts

The 7th & 8th Grade Math Teacher is responsible for providing engaging, rigorous, and faith‑filled mathematics instruction to students in grades seven and eight. The teacher fosters academic excellence while supporting the spiritual, social, emotional, and moral development of each student in accordance with the mission and values of a Catholic school.

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards‑based math lessons aligned with the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, technology, and hands‑on learning experiences to promote student understanding.
• Encourage critical thinking, problem‑solving, and mathematical reasoning.
• Prepare students for high school mathematics through strong foundational instruction.

• Develop and administer formative and summative assessments.
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate grade records.
• Use assessment data to inform instruction and provide timely intervention when needed.
• Communicate student progress regularly with parents and administration.

• Create a positive, safe, and respectful classroom environment.
• Establish clear expectations for student behavior and academic responsibility.
• Promote student accountability, collaboration, and mutual respect.

• Work collaboratively with faculty, administration, and support staff.
• Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary learning and school initiatives.

• Effectively integrate educational technology into instruction.
• Utilize school‑approved learning platforms and student data systems.
• Maintain an organized and updated online gradebook and classroom resources.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Massachusetts teaching license or eligibility for licensure preferred.
• Middle‑school teaching experience preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Commitment to the mission of Catholic education.

• Strong understanding of middle‑school mathematics curriculum.
• Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
• Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with educational technology and classroom management systems.

• Full‑time position.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
