Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and operate complete building control systems, including low‑voltage subsystems such as lighting, nurse call, and data networks.
- Generate flow diagrams, sequences of operation, bills of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics.
- Develop, test, and commission software programs necessary to meet project requirements.
- Coordinate and create drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
- Select, order, and track delivery of materials for assigned projects.
- Coordinate factory‑mounting processes to meet factory and project schedules.
- Assist in loading and commissioning system and network‑level controllers.
- Validate complete system functionality and troubleshoot problems with subcontractors and other trades.
- Provide field change information for as‑built drawings and software updates.
- Keep management, contractors, and customers informed of job progress and issues.
- Assist in training owners/operators on the total building control system.
- Participate in release meetings with the project field team.
- Perform value engineering to provide cost‑effective results while maintaining customer satisfaction.
- Provide work directions to Systems Design Assistants as needed.
- Adhere to safety standards and maintain a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a minimum of three years’ experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or HVAC industry.
- Proficiency with control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and related subsystems.
- Experience integrating low‑voltage building subsystems using industry protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, LON, and others.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non‑technical audiences.
- Advanced computer skills, particularly with drafting and other computer‑related tools.
$71,000 – $108,000 USD annual. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
