Job Overview
Assists with scheduling and supervision of the Store Support Team Members and the day‑to‑day flow of the department. Supports the Store Support Team Leader and Associate Team Leader(s) to ensure smooth operation of the Store Support Team. All Whole Foods Market retail jobs require ensuring a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times.
Responsibilities- Supervise and delegate tasks to Team Members.
- Work with Team Trainer to train Team Members and build a high-performance team.
- Assist in training of new Team Members using learning checklists and training materials.
- Maintain clean, well-stocked, and properly rotated cases and shelves.
- Resolve difficult customer situations.
- Ensure all necessary breaks are given.
- Communicate team concerns, attendance issues, and other matters to Team Leader and Store Leadership.
- Set and achieve the highest standards of retail execution.
- Foster an environment of teamwork, mutual respect, and morale.
- Maintain awareness of customer flows; direct Team Members to satisfy customer needs.
- Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members for a high-performance team.
- Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance evaluations.
- Consistently communicate and model WFM vision and goals.
- Extensive knowledge of Store Support procedures and policies.
- Advanced product knowledge and awareness of new products.
- Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
- Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
- Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory.
- Decision-making, leadership, prioritizing and delegating ability.
- Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
12+ months retail experience.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions- Capable of lifting 50 pounds.
- Stand/walk 6‑8 hours during an 8‑hour day.
- Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
- Required movements: bending, twisting, squatting, reaching.
- Exposure to FDA‑approved cleaning chemicals.
- Exposure to temperatures 90°F.
- Work in wet and cold environment.
- Transportable schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
The wage range for this position is $17.50‑$30.20 per hour, commensurate with experience.
