Responsibilities
- Provide customers with the highest level of service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing solutions and outcomes during commissioning and aftermarket service.
- Recommend and implement measures to maintain efficient operation, including upselling opportunities.
- Prepare accurate quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
- Perform startup, commissioning, troubleshooting and aftermarket services for HVAC products, including residential and ducted products, air‑cooled and water‑cooled chillers, AHUs and rooftop ducted units.
- Repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines and screw chiller system components.
- Travel 10–20% to support branch customers for startup, commissioning and service activities.
- Prioritize safety in all activities.
- Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL‑CIO.
- Must hold a Mass State Refrigeration License.
- Must possess a Universal EPA refrigerants license and any applicable state or local licensing.
- Minimum of three (3) years of practical work experience with residential and/or ducted HVAC products, air‑cooled or water‑cooled chillers, AHUs or rooftop ducted units.
- Strong HVAC/mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in repairing centrifugal compressors, steam turbines and screw chiller system components.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel 10–20% of the time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; can articulate problems, causes and corrective actions to customers.
- Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiency.
- Self‑starter with a passion to learn and apply new skills on the job.
Opportunity to enroll in JCI’s Service Technical Academy (STA) and other training programs to advance knowledge in HVAC products and sales quoting.
BenefitsPay Range: $70.58 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
