Our client, a growing consulting firm in the Lynnwood, WA area, is seeking an Accounting Services leader to lead and grow their client accounting practice. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working directly with clients, leading a talented team, and building scalable accounting solutions for growing businesses.
This position will oversee a team of accounting professionals who provide outsourced accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, financial reporting, and consulting services to a portfolio of clients. This role will serve as a key leader within the organization, ensuring exceptional client service, high-quality deliverables, and continued growth of the company.
The ideal candidate is a strong accounting leader with excellent communication skills, a passion for developing people, and the ability to provide strategic guidance while remaining hands-on with client engagements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, manage, and develop a team of talented accounting professionals supporting client accounting business
- Oversee all bookkeeping, payroll, and accounting service engagements while serving as the primary point of contact for clients
- Ensure client deliverables, deadlines, and expectations are consistently met with a high level of quality and accuracy
- Review accounting work papers, reconciliations, and financial reporting deliverables for completeness, accuracy, and compliance
- Supervise, train, mentor, and support accounting staff to enhance technical skills and professional growth
- Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements utilizing both cash basis and accrual basis accounting methods
- Perform and review monthly account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting processes
- Provide guidance and support on complex accounting matters and assist clients with financial process improvements
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients through exceptional customer service and proactive communication
- Identify opportunities to improve client processes, enhance service offerings, and increase client value
- Help drive the continued development, growth, and expansion of the team.
- Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives, operational improvements, and practice development
- Work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- CPA and/or prior public accounting experience a plus
- Experience managing client accounting engagements, outsourced accounting services, or professional services accounting
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, accounting, cash flow forecasting, finance, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation
- Experience with both cash basis and accrual basis accounting
- Proven leadership experience managing, mentoring, and developing accounting professionals
- Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting best practices
- Excellent client service skills with the ability to build trusted relationships
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client engagements and priorities
- Ability to work independently, solve problems, and make sound decisions
- $140,000 to $155,000 base depending on experience + discretionary bonus
