Associate Faculty Pool, Child, Youth, and Family Studies (PT Faculty)
SALARY: A five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $6,387.94

DESCRIPTION:
The Child, Youth, and Family Studies (CYFS) Department accepts applications for part-time teaching on an ongoing basis. The department offers a bachelor of applied science (BAS) degree that is listed on the department website onds.edu/programs/bas/cyfs. Instructors in this department teach upper division courses that integrate and build on the skills and knowledge developed from both the social and human services and early childhood education disciplines.
Candidates with an interest and/or experience in programs focusing on human services for children, youth and their families, advocacy and social justice, preventive interventions, and/or nonprofit programming and evaluation are especially encouraged to apply.
Most quarters are 11 weeks long; each week consists of approximately five hours of class time. CYFS courses are held in the evening and online. Training for teaching online or using Canvas (the college's learning management system) is available for all employees. For more information about Edmonds College, please visit our web page onds.edu.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master
¿ s degree in early childhood education; social work; social justice; family studies; family and consumer science; human development; child, youth and family studies; or related fields, such as social services, social welfare, sociology, psychology, mental health or early learning.
* One year of direct service experience with children, youth, and families in appropriate fields, related to social work, human development, child/family support, early childhood education, counseling, mental health, or a closely related field.
* Ability to work effectively with populations representing diverse ages, backgrounds, life experiences, and abilities, including adult learners.
* Excellent speaking, writing, listening, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
* Good technology skills and familiarity with the Internet and communicating online.
DESIRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Teaching experience at a community college or university.
* Experience working with Canvas or other online learning management systems.
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically performed in a classroom which requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Instructors typically use a personal computer in the work environment.
COMPENSATION:
The work schedule is based on an eleven-week quarterly schedule and could vary each quarter. Salary is dependent upon contract load and mode of instruction. A standard five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $6,387.94 at Step
A. Special assignments are paid at $45 per hour, and meeting stipends are compensated per the CBA rate, starting at $55 for meetings lasting from 30 minutes up to 2 hours.

* For education and degrees completed outside of the United States, an independent evaluation approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) is needed before the hiring process will be completed.
