Position Overview
Associate Faculty Pool, Pre-College Education Division (PT Faculty)
SALARY: A five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $6,387.94
LOCATION:
Lynnwood Washington

DESCRIPTION:
The Pre-college Education Division accepts applications for instructors to teach courses in Adult Basic Education, Bridge (pre-college level reading and writing), and high school completion departments. Areas of special interest are developmental reading and writing courses; high school completion social sciences, science and math; and Adult Basic Education integrated courses and I-BEST programs. The Division is especially interested in recruiting applicants that represent our increasingly diverse student population.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's Degree in Education or a related field OR a Bachelor's and related experience.
* Two years of teaching experience in the field.
* Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English with a diverse student population.
DESIRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Successful experience teaching at-risk adult students or youth re-engagement program students.
* Successful experience working in a team of educators.
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically performed in a classroom which requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Instructors typically use a personal computer in the work environment.
COMPENSATION:
The work schedule is based on an eleven-week quarterly schedule and could vary each quarter. Salary is dependent upon contract load and mode of instruction. A standard five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $6,387.94 at Step
A. Special assignments are paid at $45 per hour, and meeting stipends are compensated per the CBA rate, starting at $55 for meetings lasting from 30 minutes up to 2 hours.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
* You must document your citizenship or employment authorization within three days of hire.
* Criminal background check. Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant
¿ s suitability and competence to perform in the position.
* For education and degrees completed outside of the United States, an independent evaluation approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) is needed before the hiring process will be completed.
* All new positions are contingent upon funding.
