DESCRIPTION:
Edmonds College School of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Biology instructor. This position presents an exciting opportunity to inspire and educate the next generation of healthcare and science professionals. The instructor will be responsible for teaching and providing leadership in a variety of biology courses for majors, with a primary focus on Human Anatomy and Physiology.
Additional teaching responsibilities may include other biology courses, such as General Biology and non-majors courses such as Human Biology. The current teaching assignment includes morning and afternoon classes, but could be updated to include evening or weekend teaching as needed.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering instructional materials, evaluating student performance, assigning grades, maintaining accurate records, developing curriculum as needed, and integrating technology as needed to support student-centered learning. Responsibilities also include providing academic advising and mentorship, including advising students within the Healthcare Transfer Center (HCTC). Edmonds College seeks faculty who demonstrate a commitment to student learning, adaptability in diverse teaching settings, effective use of instructional technologies, and the ability to collaborate with students, colleagues, and staff in an inclusive environment that promotes student success and cultural diversity.
Additional responsibilities include supporting the College
¿ s mission and values, participating in departmental and divisional activities, serving on committees, engaging in required professional development and college in-service training (including orientation and compliance activities), and contributing to ongoing program and self-evaluation efforts.
This is a tenure-track faculty position, reporting to the Dean of STEM with an anticipated start date of September 14, 2026.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's Degree in a biological science from an accredited institution.
* Demonstrated Undergraduate Teaching
Experience:
Documented experience teaching life sciences at the undergraduate level, encompassing the equivalent of at least one year of Anatomy & Physiology and one year of Molecular/Cellular Biology. Prior experience within a community college setting is preferred.
* Student Advising Expertise:
Proven ability to provide academic advising to pre-healthcare and biology students, guiding them on course requirements and transfer pathways.
* Curriculum Development Proficiency:
Experience in the development of curricula in Anatomy & Physiology, as well as other life science curricula.
* Adaptability in Instructional Modalities:
Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering courses that effectively engage students across a variety of instructional modalities, including in-person, online, and hybrid.
* Commitment to Student Success: A profound interest in knowledge dissemination, pedagogical excellence, and fostering the academic and professional success of future healthcare professionals.

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This is not a remote position; the successful candidate will be expected to be on campus. Work is typically performed in a classroom and office and can require standing or sitting for extended periods. Faculty members are required to use computers and other technologies in the work environment.
COMPENSATION:
The salary is based on the current faculty salary schedule; placement is based on education. The current range is $88,536.91 - $89,988.74 annually for a 172-day appointment, with contractually guided increases to $ annually.
