SALARY: A five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $6,387.94
LOCATION:
Lynnwood Washington

DESCRIPTION:
The Computer Information Systems department is part of the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) division at Edmonds College. Programs of study include transfer degrees as well as certificates in Cyber Security, Desktop Support, Digital Forensics, Server Administration, Web Application Development and Network Technology. The primary duty is conducting all aspects of IT training (teaching, tutoring, instructing, lecturing and participating in community outreach activities related to Computer Information Systems), working with the lead instructor(s) and or department chair(s) to modify and evaluate curriculum as needed, and grading student homework and assignments.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
* Minimum of one year of demonstrated successful teaching experience in both the lecture and laboratory portions of one or more IT-related disciplines.
* Thorough understanding of technologies used to support classroom instruction and online instruction such as Blackboard and Canvas, etc.
* Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English.
* Current IT certification(s) related to the course(s) being taught or the certification(s) students are being prepared for, such as of A+, CSFA, CEH, CIW, MCP, DFCP, Network+, Security+, CCENT, CCNA, etc.
* Recent industry experience related to the course(s) being taught.
DESIRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Certified Technical Trainer or Microsoft Certified Trainer certification.
* Active memberships in professional IT related organizations such as AITP, DAMA, HTCIA, HTCC, ISSA, ISACA, etc.
* Experience with latest online and non-traditional learning methodologies.
* Experience with developing and delivering Competency Based Education.
* Experience with participating in community outreach activities.
* A philosophy of education and training appropriate to IT job placement and the community college environment.
* Demonstrated professional attitude with both students and colleagues.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively teach students from diverse academic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
* Ability to create an atmosphere of inclusion.
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically performed in an academic computer lab, which requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Instructors typically use a personal computer in the work environment.
COMPENSATION:
The work schedule is based on an eleven-week quarterly schedule and could vary each quarter. Salary is dependent upon contract load and mode of instruction. A standard five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $6,387.94 at Step
A. Special assignments are paid at $45 per hour, and meeting stipends are compensated per the CBA rate, starting at $55 for meetings lasting from 30 minutes up to 2 hours.

* For education and degrees completed outside of the United States, an independent evaluation approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) is needed before the hiring process will be completed.
