SALARY: $58.07/hour

DESCRIPTION:
We are on the hunt for a self-motivated and experienced teacher to join our qualified team of educators. As a teacher, you will be responsible for cultivating the students
¿ interest in suitable career pathways, strengths discovery and self-advocacy. This class is a bridge for students with disabilities to be equipped to find jobs and/ or to continue education at the post-secondary level. It will consist of training students in workplace readiness skills, work-based learning experiences and administrative duties to help manage the deliverables required for the federal contract that funds this program.
Your classroom responsibilities will include engaging students with best practices in instruction, supporting student strength discovery, engaging them with technology and online learning, evaluating students
¿ progress, and planning educational activities. You will also be expected to be able to navigate and learn how to use an online educational platform that will aid students in career exploration. You should be a competent professional with in-depth knowledge of teaching best practices and educational processes. In addition to having excellent written and verbal communication skills, our ideal candidate will also demonstrate outstanding presentation and interpersonal abilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop and issue educational content including notes and assignments.
* Supervise classes to ensure all students are learning in a safe and productive environment.
* Organize supplies and resources for lectures and presentations.
* Deliver personalized instruction to each student by encouraging interactive learning.
* Plan and implement educational activities and events.
* Ensure your classroom is clean and orderly (for in person classes).
* Prepare and distribute periodic progress reports and semester report cards.
* Attend possible parent-teacher meetings.
* Evaluate and document students
¿ progress.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor
¿ s degree in teaching or relevant field.
* A minimum of 2 years experience as a teacher.
* In-depth knowledge of teaching methods and legal educational procedures.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
* Well-organized with excellent leadership abilities.
* Engaging and able to manage students with varying disabilities while maintaining a positive and encouraging learning environment.
* Able to differentiate instruction for differing abilities and allowing students to self-pace as needed
* Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
DESIRED
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Dependable Strengths Training from the University of Washington or other similar training
* Working with student success/career 1-2 years
* Worked with students with disabilities 1-2 years
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically performed in a variety of settings including classrooms, skills labs and off campus sites. Standing or sitting for long periods of time may occur in any of the settings mentioned. The ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English is essential.
COMPENSATION:
The work schedule is based on an eleven-week quarterly schedule and could vary each quarter. Salary is dependent upon contract load and mode of instruction. A standard five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $6,387.94 at Step
A. Special assignments are paid at $45 per hour, and meeting stipends are compensated per the CBA rate, starting at $55 for meetings lasting from 30 minutes up to 2 hours.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
* You must document your citizenship or employment authorization within three days of hire.
* Criminal background check. Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant
¿ s suitability and competence to perform in the position.
* For education and degrees completed outside of the United States, an independent evaluation approved by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) is needed before the hiring process will be completed.
