Edmonds College and the Humanities and Social Sciences division invite applications for an Associate Faculty U.S. History instructor. The college seeks faculty who will adapt to a variety of teaching situations, can use technology to teach effectively, and will work with students, staff, and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and student success.

• Master's degree or higher in History, American Studies, or related discipline.
• Experience teaching college-level U.S. History (including AP or IB).
• Experience teaching hybrid or online classes.
• Demonstrated success in working effectively with faculty, students, and staff of various cultural and social backgrounds.

• Experience teaching U.S. History at a community college.
• Experience teaching with the Canvas LMS.
• Experience teaching Running Start students.
• Experience teaching Western Civilization, World Civilization, or Pacific Northwest History.

Work is typically performed in a classroom which requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Instructors typically use a personal computer in the work environment.

A. Special assignments are paid at $45 per hour, and meeting stipends are compensated per the CBA rate, starting at $55 for meetings lasting from 30 minutes up to 2 hours.

• Criminal background check. Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.
• All new positions are contingent upon funding.
