Associate Faculty Pool, Pharmacy Technician - Allied Health Education Program (PT Faculty)
Salary: A five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $6,387.94
Location: Lynnwood, Washington
DescriptionPart‑time instructors may be needed to teach Pharmacy Technician courses, including lecture, lab, and clinical supervision. Instructors may also teach a variety of Allied Health Education prerequisite courses. Responsibilities include supervising and instructing in classroom and clinical/lab areas; developing and scheduling clinical externships; recruiting additional clinical sites to support courses. Courses are taught during the day, evening, and weekend, both in traditional and online settings.
Required Qualifications- Educational qualifications related to specific discipline (AA degree, Bachelor's degree).
- Current (or eligible for) State of Washington certification and/or licensure as Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician.
- Teaching or training experience equivalent to one college quarter, or desire to teach.
- Three years of full‑time work experience in a pharmacy setting (retail or hospital).
- Excellent verbal, listening, problem‑solving, critical thinking, and writing skills.
- Demonstrated successful experience teaching in a college or clinical setting.
- Experience with multiple approaches to teaching and learning, such as incorporating technology into the classroom, teaching online or hybrid classes, or using other innovative techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to a variety of teaching situations, including a wide range of student preparedness, backgrounds, and life experiences.
- Knowledge of computer skills used in the pharmacy field, and ability to apply technology to pharmacy curriculum.
- Experience with educational technology and online teaching methods.
- Ability to work effectively with supervisors, colleagues, staff, and students as part of an educational team.
Work is performed in classrooms, skills labs, and off‑campus clinical sites. Standing or sitting for long periods may occur. The ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English is essential.
Compensation and Work ScheduleThe work schedule is based on an eleven‑week quarterly schedule that could vary each quarter. Salary depends on contract load and mode of instruction. A standard five‑credit lecture mode class is approximately $6,387.94. Special assignments are paid at $45 per hour, and meeting stipends are compensated per the CBA rate, starting at $55 for meetings lasting from 30 minutes up to 2 hours.
