Associate Faculty Pool, Accounting (PT Faculty)

SALARY: A five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $6,387.94

LOCATION: Lynnwood, Washington

Description

The instructor will be responsible for teaching and providing leadership in Accounting. Courses taught in the program include Financial and Managerial Accounting, Accounting Fundamentals, Payroll Accounting, Quickbooks, and other related classes.

Classes are offered in a variety of class times and modes of instruction:

  • Face‑to‑face classes that meet during the day or evening.
  • Hybrid classes that meet face‑to‑face once a week (on Saturday or an evening) as well as online.
  • Online classes that meet entirely online.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting or a closely related field.
  • Two years of full‑time work experience in accounting, business management, finance, or a closely related field.
  • Excellent speaking, writing, listening, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated successful experience teaching accounting and business‑related courses, in both professional‑technical and academic transfer programs.
  • Experience with multiple approaches to teaching and learning, such as incorporating a variety of technologies into the classroom, teaching online or hybrid classes, or using other innovative techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to a variety of teaching situations, including a wide range of student preparedness, backgrounds, and life experiences.
  • Knowledge of computer skills used in accounting, and ability to apply technology to accounting curriculum.
  • Experience with educational technology and online teaching methods.
  • Ability to work effectively with supervisors, colleagues, staff, and students as part of an educational team.
Physical Work Environment

Work is typically performed in a classroom which requires standing and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Instructors typically use a personal computer in the work environment.

Compensation

The work schedule is based on an eleven‑week quarterly schedule and could vary each quarter. Salary is dependent upon contract load and mode of instruction. A standard five‑credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $6,387.94 at Step

A. Special assignments are paid at $45 per hour, and meeting stipends are compensated per the CBA rate, starting at $55 for meetings lasting from 30 minutes up to 2 hours.

Conditions of Employment
  • You must document your citizenship or employment authorization within three days of hire.
  • Criminal background check. Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant’s suitability and competence to perform in the position.
  • All new positions are contingent upon funding.
