SALARY: $58,740.59 - $62,203.46

LOCATION: Lynnwood, Washington

DESCRIPTION :

Edmonds College is seeking a dedicated and compassionate team player to fulfill our ELA Transitions Case Manager role. Working in conjunction with the ELA Advising team, this position is responsible for providing ongoing wrap around support for ELA students who are transitioning to college classes, academic programs, and increased employment opportunities. The ELA Transitions Case Manager has a dual role of supporting the wider, overall efforts within the ELA department to increase transitions as well as providing comprehensive one-on-one case management services to a smaller subset of transitioning students.

The position advises ELA students in the selection of programs, creation of educational and career plans, and development of college success skills. The ELA Transitions Case Manager identifies and assists students to apply for student financial aid.

This is an exempt position that reports to the Director of ELA Student Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
  • Enroll students using the state student management system, ctcLink.
  • Assist with new student advising sessions, application workshops, team meetings, end of quarter enrollment, drop-in advising.
  • Advise new students after receiving placement scores on the Levels of English Proficiency (LOEP) Test.

Case Management/Student Retention

  • Provide consistent and accessible case management support to students in the ELA program through their initial transition to college-level classes, vocational certificates or employment opportunities.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of college certificate and degree program requirements and eligibility.
  • Focus on student success and retention by monitoring student progress and participation
  • Track retention and outcomes for students receiving services from RISNW (Refugee Immigrant Services Northwest)

Funding Navigation

  • Screen for eligibility, and assist students in understanding and applying for various types of financial aid (FAFSA and WAFSA).
  • Assist with Financial Aid Application workshops and timely reminders for important deadlines.
  • Guide students with updating residency status and programs of study through Enrollment Services and Financial Aid to qualify for funding and enrollment.
  • Provide ongoing support to students to comply with financial aid requirements.
  • Engage students in college transitional activities which includes facilitating workshops and classroom presentations, college tours, and individual appointments as well as refer students to transitional programs, such as Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (I-BEST) and Academic English (AENGL) .
  • Coordinate services and collaborate with internal and external campus partners such as Financial Aid and Career/Counseling services.
  • Refer students to appropriate resources within the college and greater community.
