Monday‑Friday 6:00 am–2:30 pm.

Job SummaryThe R&O Electronics Tech II is responsible for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying repair and overhaul (R&O) electronic components, electro‑mechanical assemblies, parts, equipment, and systems by applying principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering mathematics, electronic and electrical testing, and physics.
Essential Functions- Read component maintenance manuals, blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, drawings, and engineering instructions for assembling and testing electronic or mechanical units.
- Test electronic units using standard test equipment, analyze results to evaluate performance, and determine adjustments.
- Maintain circuitry or electronic components according to engineering instructions, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronics, using hand and power tools.
- Adjust and replace defective or improperly functioning circuitry and electronic components, using hand tools and soldering iron.
- Write reports and record data on testing techniques, laboratory equipment, and specifications to assist engineers.
- Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions, working with manufacturers and field representatives to procure replacement parts.
- Maintain system logs and manuals to document testing and operation of equipment.
- Provide user applications and engineering support and recommendations for new and existing equipment regarding installation, upgrades, and enhancements.
- Test units in other programs not normally worked on and units of greater complexity under close supervision.
- Practice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy.
- Support Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, KPI’s, Standard Work, Problem Solving, and other initiatives as they arise.
- Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary.
- Perform any other task assigned by supervisor or management.
- Support customer visits.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Perform minimal work under a microscope or soldering.
- Experience:
1–3 years in a related field. - Knowledge:
Extensive knowledge of methods and procedures in troubleshooting, circuitry or mechanical characteristics, familiarity with product flow through a manufacturing or repair environment, and working knowledge of computer systems. - Skills:
Good oral and written expression in English; ability to use logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems; strong time‑management skills. - Abilities:
Ability to learn new test software and equipment; manual and finger dexterity; coordination; ability to work in multiple software systems; monitoring, assessing, and improving performance. - Education/Certification:
AA degree in Electronic or Mechanical Technology or equivalent through experience or recognized educational institution. - Eligibility:
Must be able to work under FAA FSDO requirements and may require access to Controlled Data or Information; only US Persons considered for positions requiring such access.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing effective repair and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of practical application of engineering electronics, science, and technology, including design and production of various goods and services.
- Knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
