Development Technician I
The Alderwood Water & Wastewater District (AWWD) is seeking a full‑time Development Technician I for its Engineering and Development Department. Located in the fast‑growing Puget Sound region, AWWD focuses on the expansion, maintenance, and replacement of its critical infrastructure. The Development team reviews and approves plans for developer water and sewer extension agreements. The position reports to the Utility Program Manager and is a key member of the engineering and development department, performing a variety of technical engineering functions.
Responsibilities include:
assisting in the review and approval of plans for developer water and sewer extension agreements and District public works projects; processing water meter and side sewer connection permits; preparing availability letters and calculating connection charges; assisting engineers and other staff by performing a variety of basic technical engineering functions.
Qualifications:
excellent communication and writing skills and functional knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint); comfortable with computers and navigating and learning various programs; a combination of education and experience that provides knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions. Typical requirements:
Associate’s Degree in civil engineering, engineering technology, construction management or related field and one or more years of progressively responsible experience; a Bachelor’s Degree substitutes for one year of experience.
Pay range: $89,960.00 – $ annually, with a starting pay range of $89,960.00 – $ depending on experience and qualifications.
