The Quality Engineer works under immediate supervision and uses established procedures to control and monitor quality, ensuring products are consistent with industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements.
Essential Functions- Work cross‑functionally with Engineering, Operations, Suppliers and Customers
- Collect and analyze production data to evaluate product quality
- Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions
- Stop production if serious product defects are present
- Monitor quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
- Instruct others in quality control and analytical procedures
- Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, root cause analyses, or quality trends
- Review statistical studies, regulatory standards and trends in the field of quality control
- Identify critical points in the Value Stream and specify sampling procedures
- Drive qualification of product and process changes to ensure only the highest levels of quality are accepted
- Support audits with Defense, Aerospace and Customer Auditors
- Provide support for failure analysis and reliability testing as required
- Review and approve quality document changes – Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Manufacturing Change Orders (MCOs), deviations
- Perform any other task assigned by supervisor or management
- Experience:
0‑8 years of Quality Engineering experience - Knowledge:
Understands fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of assigned product or program;
Knowledge of commonly‑used concepts, practices and procedures within the field - Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
Full color acuity;
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently to meet company standards and deadlines - Education/Certification:
BA or BS degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering highly preferred - Eligibility Requirement:
This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). FAA sensitive position – may be subject to a government security investigation to verify eligibility for access to classified information
- Experience in an Aerospace environment or similar manufacturing setting
- ASQC Quality Engineer Certification
- Standard office environment
- Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
- Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
- May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
- Standing: circa 10 % of time;

Lifting (in pounds): up to 25 pounds;
