Position: Quality Engineer I-III

Job Summary:

The Quality Engineer works under immediate supervision and uses established procedures to control and monitor quality, ensuring products are consistent with industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements.

Essential Functions:

* Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Suppliers and Customers

* Collect and analyze production data to evaluate product quality

* Conduct root cause analysis and recommends corrective actions

* Stop production if serious product defects are present

* Monitor quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency

* Instruct others in quality control and analytical procedures

* Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, root cause analyses, or quality trends

* Review statistical studies, regulatory standards and trends in the field of quality control

* Identify critical points in the Value Stream and specify sampling procedures

* Drive qualification of product and process changes to ensure only the highest levels of quality are accepted

* Support audits with Defense, Aerospace and Customer Auditors

* Provide support for failure analysis and reliability testing as required

* Review and approve quality document changes - Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Manufacturing Change Orders (MCOs), deviations

* Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

Minimum Qualifications:

* Experience:

0-8 years of Quality Engineering experience

* Knowledge:
Understands fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of assigned product or program;
Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field

* Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
Full color acuity;
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in order to meet company standards and deadlines

* Education/Certification:

BA or BS degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering highly preferred

* Eligibility Requirement:
This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). FAA sensitive position - may be subject to a government security investigation to verify eligibility for access to classified information

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in an Aerospace environment or similar manufacturing setting

* ASQC Quality Engineer Certification

Working Conditions:

* Standard office environment

* Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail

* Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment

* Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

* May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes

* Standing: 10%

* Sitting: 90%

* Lifting (in pounds): up to 25 pounds

* Pushing (in pounds): up to 25 pounds

* Mental/Visual: use of computer, microscope
