* Job Summary:

*
* The Quality Engineer works under immediate supervision and uses established procedures to control and monitor quality, ensuring products are consistent with industry standards, government regulations, and customer requirements.

*
* Essential Functions:

*
* + Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Suppliers and Customers

+ Collect and analyze production data to evaluate product quality

+ Conduct root cause analysis and recommends corrective actions

+ Stop production if serious product defects are present

+ Monitor quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency

+ Instruct others in quality control and analytical procedures

+ Produce reports regarding nonconformance of products or processes, root cause analyses, or quality trends

+ Review statistical studies, regulatory standards and trends in the field of quality control

+ Identify critical points in the Value Stream and specify sampling procedures

+ Drive qualification of product and process changes to ensure only the highest levels of quality are accepted

+ Support audits with Defense, Aerospace and Customer Auditors

+ Provide support for failure analysis and reliability testing as required

+ Review and approve quality document changes - Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Manufacturing Change Orders (MCOs), deviations

+ Any other task assigned by supervisor or management

* Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

0-8 years of Quality Engineering experience

+ Knowledge:
Understands fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of assigned product or program;
Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field

+ Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Proficient in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint;
Full color acuity;
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in order to meet company standards and deadlines

BA or BS degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering highly preferred*

* + Experience in an Aerospace environment or similar manufacturing setting

+ ASQC Quality Engineer Certification

+ Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment

+ Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE

+ May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes

+ Standing: 10%
