Project Engineer, Systems Engineer

Crane Aerospace and Electronics provides critical systems and components to the aerospace and defense markets. We are hiring a Project Engineer for our Lynnwood, WA location.

The Project Engineer will use established procedures and work under limited supervision to perform assigned tasks by working cross‑functionally with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Operations, Suppliers and Customers. Provide engineering design evaluations including responsibility for technical proposals, prototype to production, performance, customer presentations, schedule and cost requirements. May lead a team of engineers on assigned projects.

• Interface with other disciplines (marketing, manufacturing, quality assurance, purchasing, and customers) to exchange information, resolve problems, and achieve results.
• Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure that designs meet the customers’ electrical, environmental and internal manufacturing requirements and standards.
• Collaborate with other engineering departments and coordinate their specialized contributions to the development of the project.
• Provide technical support for the engineering process, plan and design methods to improve production processes.
• Prepare schedules and cost estimates for the engineering efforts required.
• Conduct functional, acceptance, qualification, or development testing on new or modified designs.
• Act as technical interface for customers, assist customers with specification development, and translate customer specification into design documentation required for prototype and/or production releases.
• Review industry policies and procedures to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Takes action to resolve operational problems and minimize delays.
• Complete any other task assigned by supervisor or management.

• Project Engineer – 2 to 7 years of experience managing technical projects or business issues requiring deep technical understanding.
• Senior Project Engineer – 7+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures related to project and program management in a technical environment; strong analytical and business acumen with understanding of finance.
• Excellent documentation, organization and time management skills; demonstrated ability to lead complex projects through complete cycle in a matrixed organization.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to perform detailed financial and technical analysis.
• BS degree in an engineering discipline.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
