Systems Engineer- Avionics

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to support the development and certification of safety‑critical aerospace systems. This role involves leading system‑level design, requirements engineering, and safety analysis activities across the full product lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in avionics systems, certification standards, and embedded systems development, along with the ability to collaborate across cross‑functional engineering teams.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (engineering, quality, operations, business) to achieve product performance, cost, and quality targets
• Define, decompose, and manage system and subsystem requirements for product development and R&D
• Lead system architecture development, requirements flow‑down, validation, and verification activities
• Drive system development processes aligned with industry standards (e.g.,
  ARP
  4754
  )
• Perform and lead System Safety Analysis (FMEA, FTA, Common Mode Analysis, SEU, reliability predictions per ARP
  4761)
• Support certification and compliance activities for aircraft control systems
• Develop and review technical documentation including proposals, reports, and procedures
• Investigate and resolve technical issues using structured problem‑solving techniques
• Support Integrated Product Team (IPT) activities across engineering, operations, and business groups
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, 5S)
• Plan, prioritize, and execute work to meet project schedules and budgets
• Strong experience with systems engineering processes (ARP
  4754)
• Familiarity with DO-178C, DO-254, and DO-160 standards
• Hands‑on experience with:
• Embedded systems & avionics integration
• Proficiency in C++ and CAN (Controller Area Network)
• Experience with modeling & simulation tools (e.g.,
  Simulink
  )
• Understanding of circuit analysis and power electronics fundamentals
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC)

• Experience with ARP
  4754 / ARP
  4761 safety processes
• Knowledge of DO-178C certification programs
• Experience with requirement management tools (e.g.,
  IBM DOORS
  )
• Exposure to aerospace certification environments

A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law.
