About the Program

The organization operates multiple programs and facilities across Western Washington, providing essential services to underserved populations. The infrastructure department supports education, health care, outreach, and administrative operations, enabling the organization to deliver services efficiently, securely, and reliably.

General Function

The LNC Maintenance Technician oversees and coordinates the operation, maintenance, and repair of the Lynnwood Neighborhood Center’s building systems and infrastructure. The position works with vendors, contractors, and internal facilities staff to ensure mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and IT-related systems operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational needs.

Principal Activities
  • Oversee all building system operations, maintenance, and repair.
  • Coordinate and supervise vendor, contractor, and internal staff work.
  • Monitor and manage building access, security, and safety equipment.
  • Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with staff and departments to assess facility needs.
  • Maintain detailed records, documentation, and compliance reports.
  • Ensure systems meet energy management and sustainability goals.
  • Respond to emergencies, alarms, and urgent service requests.
  • Perform safety checks, emergency drills, and routine inspections.
  • Maintain and update safety documentation, permits, and inspection reports.
  • Coordinate with the Site Director on maintenance priorities and improvements.
  • Act as point of contact for tenants regarding maintenance matters.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and service providers.
  • Support events and special projects requiring facility assistance.
Education and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical, trade school, or associate degree in facilities management, building systems, HVAC, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, or general building systems preferred.
Experience and Skills
  • Minimum of 3 years in building maintenance, engineering, or facilities operations.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building systems.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and basic IT infrastructure.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Strong problem‑solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with user account management, access control systems, and security monitoring.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, ticketing systems, and IT management software.
  • Safety and compliance training (OSHA, fire safety, etc.).
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and reach overhead as needed.
  • Work in confined spaces, elevated areas, or on uneven surfaces safely.
  • Operate machinery, monitor systems, and perform inspections.
  • Availability for on‑call or after‑hours support as required.
  • Must possess a valid Washington State driver’s license and maintain a clean record.
  • Pass criminal background check and complete organization’s Driver Training Program within 60 days of hire.
