Electronics Technician

Job Summary

Electronics Technician, 1st or 2nd shift, Lynnwood, WA. Responsible for testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying electronic or mechanical products, parts, equipment, and systems. Works under limited direction/supervision.

• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings; use manufacturing and engineering instructions for testing assembled units.
• Generate non‑conformance reports with detailed descriptions of testing performed, failures, and initial root‑cause investigation.
• Interpret work orders, drawings, schematics, test procedures, failure reports, manuals, and other specifications.
• Calibrate or adjust units using component selection, potentiometer adjustment, shimming, tension, coil adjustments, bearing and gear adjustments, or other appropriate methods.
• Perform automated testing (vibe, burn‑in, thermal cycle, flying probe & ICT) and manual testing using appropriate equipment (multimeters, signal generators, power supplies, oscilloscopes, flow meters, hi‑pot).
• Test units in other programs and units of greater complexity under limited supervision.
• Practice safe work habits per OSHA and company policy.
• Support Crane Business System initiatives such as 5S, KPI, Standard Work, and problem‑solving.
• Maintain system logs and manuals documenting testing and operation of equipment.
• Cross‑train less experienced technicians and take a leadership role in the value stream.
• Provide troubleshooting of production failures down to component level.
• Work overtime as necessary.

• 5+ years of experience in electronics or related field, or equivalent educational experience.
• Extensive knowledge of troubleshooting methods and circuit or mechanical characteristics; ability to devise and adapt solutions.
• Familiarity with product flow through a manufacturing or repair environment.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to learn new test software and equipment; identify abnormal conditions.
• Manual and finger dexterity; ability to perform precise coordinated movements.
• Proficiency in multiple software systems, including time entry, data entry, and online training platforms (PDM, MRP).
• AA degree in Electronics or Mechanical Technology, or equivalent knowledge through experience or recognized educational institution.
• Eligibility to access Controlled Data or Information (U.S. persons only).

• Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for manufacturing efficiency.
• Understanding of practical engineering electronics, scientific and technological principles applied to design and production.
• Experience with circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, computer hardware, and software including programming.

Manufacturing environment with typical safety equipment (eye safety glasses, PPE). Exposure to noise, temperature extremes, dust or fumes. May require occasional travel to support customers.

Level II: $32.32 – $41.77 per hour;
Level III/IV: $41.93 – $55.21 per hour. Salary depends on experience, skills, and qualifications. Some roles may qualify for performance‑based bonuses.
