Planner Programmer
Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Planner Programmer at our Lynnwood, WA location. This is an on-site position.

The Planner Programmer utilizes design engineering outputs (drawings, parts lists and CAD files) to create machine programs, work instructions and Oracle routers for the manufacturing shops utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) systems. The Planner Programmer also resolves data and design errors prior to sending the jobs into production.
Essential Functions- Provide precise and accurate written documents that will effectively organize and direct the production process from design release through point of shipment
- Understand the basic CAD (Computer Aided Design) file outputs from all Crane Aerospace & Electronics design packages and practices
- Verify that CAD file output is correct and resolve errors with the Design activity and Manufacturing Engineering as required
- Use Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software to create new and modify existing machine programs to control the Numerically Controlled (NC) equipment
- Develop appropriate work instructions for manufacturing
- Develop and write assigned process planning, involving specifying and describing operation sequences, indentured parts lists, quantities required, tooling requirements, inspection points, test requirements, equipment to be used, responsible shops, labor hour targets, routine, and all other relevant processing, movement and storage information
- Revise process planning in accordance with engineering changes and coordinate implementation with quality control, manufacturing, production and material control considering urgency, extent of changes, status of orders, and parts in stores
- Plan and write new and revised work orders for tooling, typically of relatively standard design, to support production
- Create and maintain Oracle routings in accordance with established Crane Aerospace & Electronics procedures
- Support Manufacturing Engineering to develop labor estimates
- Assist Manufacturing Engineering in writing and reviewing engineering changes
- Provide instruction and training of Planner/Programmer skills to others as required
- Experience:
2+ years in assembly or fabrication - Knowledge:
Familiarity with using ERP systems (Oracle preferred) in a manufacturing environment, understanding of CAD software in a production setting. - Skills/Abilities:
Ability to visualize the manufacturing process and the sequence of operations required to produce the product;
Ability to thoroughly analyze and interpret engineering drawings, parts lists and all other specs relevant to planning - Education/Certification:
High School diploma or equivalent; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience - Eligibility Requirement:
This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
