Senior Staff Accountant - Controller's Right Hand

Lynwood, CA

Full-Time | High-Visibility Role

Robert Half is partnering with a stable and growing organization in Lynwood seeking a hands-on Senior Staff Accountant to serve as the right hand to the Controller. This is a high-impact role offering strong exposure to leadership, ownership of key accounting functions, and the opportunity to play a vital part in the company's financial operations.

This position is ideal for an experienced Staff Accountant who enjoys working in a dynamic environment and wants to expand their expertise in month-end close, inventory accounting, and job costing.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare and post accurate journal entries while maintaining the integrity of the general ledger

+ Lead and support month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting

+ Perform monthly account reconciliations and analyze variances or discrepancies

+ Oversee inventory accounting, including annual physical counts and ongoing inventory reconciliation

+ Monitor and analyze standard costs to support operational and financial decision-making

+ Assist with job costing and project-based financial tracking

+ Support corporate tax filings and sales tax compliance

+ Review monthly financial statements and provide analysis of actual results versus budget

+ Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, warehouse, and leadership teams

+ Communicate effectively in both English and Spanish with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

+ 3+ years of progressive accounting experience

+ Strong experience with month-end close and general ledger accounting

+ Inventory accounting and cost accounting experience preferred

+ Exposure to job costing or project-based accounting highly desirable

+ Understanding of GAAP principles

+ Bilingual Spanish required

+ Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems

+ Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills

Requirements - Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and finance with a strong attention to detail.

- Proficiency in managing inventory processes and month-end close activities.

- Strong understanding of journal entries and general ledger maintenance.

- Experience with corporate tax filings and sales tax compliance.

- Ability to perform annual physical inventory and reconcile discrepancies.

- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is required.

- Exceptional organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
