* * looking for experienced, credentialed music teachers to work at elementary schools *
* * brief description of position: the elementary itinerant music teacher provides standards-based general music instruction for students in transitional kindergarten through grade 6 at multiple assigned school sites. The teacher develops and implements a comprehensive, sequential music program aligned with the california arts standards that fosters creativity, collaboration, cultural responsiveness, and a lifelong appreciation for music. The teacher travels between school sites, collaborates with site administrators and classroom teachers, and provides engaging musical experiences that support the academic and social-emotional development of all students.

Minimum qualifications:

credentials valid california teaching credential authorizing instruction in music (single education: subject music or appropriate multiple subject with music authorization). Bachelor's degree in music, music education, or related field (master's degree preferred).

Experience:

successful teaching experience in elementary music education preferred. Personal demonstrates professionalism, positive rapport, and strong communication qualities: skills; ability to relate effectively with students, parents, administrators, and staff; commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching practices; ability to meet district standards for physical and mental health desirable experience with orff, kodály, music learning theory, or similar pedagogical approaches; professional experience directing elementary ensembles (band preferred, ukulele, guitar, recorder;

experience: ability to integrate technology into music instruction.
