PARTICIPATION IN ALL PORTIONS OF THE EXAMINATION PROCESS IS BY OFFICIAL INVITATION ONLY. Candidates who do not participate in all parts of the testing process will NOT be considered for the position.
POSITION DETAILS AND DUTIESFULL-TIME POSITION; SIX (6) HOURS PER DAY; TEN (10) MONTHS PER YEAR.
BASIC FUNCTIONThe job of an Instructional Assistant-Bilingual is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program within assigned classroom with specific responsibility for working with students individually or in small groups in assisting in the assessment of students' English language acquisition from their native language, performing classroom clerical tasks, and serving as a resource to other school personnel requiring assistance with non-English speaking persons.
This job reports to the designated administrator.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE- Graduation from high school OR General Education Development (GED) equivalent.
- ALL CANDIDATES MUST TAKE AND OBTAIN A PASSING SCORE on the Lynwood Unified School District Instructional Assistant Proficiency Assessment (Written Examination), which meets a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrates, through a formal academic assessment, knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
- One (1) year of job-related experience.
- Fluently speak, read, write, and translate information in English and a designated second language with accuracy (Spanish).
- Any other combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates that the applicant is likely to possess the required skills, knowledge, or abilities may be considered.
