Position Details

- TRAINING & EXPERIENCE EVALUATION:
The District reserves the right to utilize a training and experience evaluation. Applicant materials will be competitively reviewed and those candidates whose qualifications most closely meet the District's needs will proceed with the recruitment process (Pass/Fail). - WRITTEN EXAMINATION:
The written examination portion of the test may have multiple steps which may be administered on different days (100% of the total score).
. Candidates who do not participate and successfully pass all parts of the examination process will not be considered for the position.
Position Details And Duties
FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME POSITION: THREE (3) OR SIX (6) HOURS PER DAY; TEN (10) MONTHS PER YEAR.
Basic Function
The job of Instructional Assistant is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program within assigned classroom/s with specific responsibility for working with students individually or in small groups and providing clerical support to teacher/s and staff.
This job reports to a designated administrator.

Education And Experience
- Graduation from high school OR General Education Development (GED) equivalent.
- Some experience working with children in an organized setting.
- ALL CANDIDATES MUST TAKE AND OBTAIN A PASSING SCORE on the Lynwood Unified School District Proficiency Assessment (Written Examination), which meets a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrates, through a formal academic assessment, knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Any other combination of education, training, and experience, that demonstrates that the applicant is likely to possess the required skills, knowledge, or abilities, may be considered.
Unofficial documents/transcripts will be accepted for initial consideration.
