RN Charge Nurse (NICU) – Traveler | Nights

Assignment Type: Long-Term Assignment (Traveler)

Duration: 13-week (Potential for extension)

Position Overview

Saint Francis Medical Center is seeking an experienced RN Charge Nurse (NICU) for a high-priority traveler assignment. This leadership role is ideal for a nurse with strong clinical expertise in neonatal intensive care and proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Schedule
  • Shift Options: Nights/Days
  • Hours: 7:00 – 7:30 (AM/PM)
  • Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts per week
  • On-Call: Required
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the Charge Nurse for the NICU, overseeing daily unit operations during night shifts
  • Lead and support nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to protocols
  • Coordinate patient care activities and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Monitor patient acuity, staffing assignments, and workflow efficiency
  • Provide clinical guidance and act as a resource for bedside nurses
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Respond to critical situations and support rapid decision-making in emergencies
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
  • Minimum 2 years of NICU experience
  • Prior Charge Nurse or leadership experience required
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and team leadership skills
  • Ability to thrive in a high-acuity, fast-paced NICU environment
