Job Description

Apollo is hiring a Data Center MEP Construction & Commissioning Support Engineer to join our Mission Critical Support Services group to enable General Contractors (GCs), Electrical Contractors (ECs), Mechanical Contractors (MCs), and other trade partners in the execution of data center MEP construction and commissioning scopes. This role is hands‑on and field‑driven, focused on helping onsite teams remove constraints, accelerate progress, improve coordination, and close execution gaps across complex builds.

Support may span multiple construction and commissioning work streams, including but not limited to workface planning, trade coordination, quality and punch support, inspections, documentation support, and commissioning and turnover support. This is an onsite, client‑facing role that may require approximately 90% or more travel to various client locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily field walks and verify installation progress against drawings, specifications, and agreed execution plans.
  • Inspect product, material and equipment as it arrives onsite to ensure compliance with approved client submittals and specifications.
  • Track and document installation status of MEP systems, life safety, and network architecture, identify gaps, and elevate constraints and blockers to the project lead and responsible trade partners.
  • Inspect materials, equipment, and construction/installation deliveries to ensure compliance with project requirements and approved designs.
  • Support field execution planning by confirming prerequisites (access, materials, manpower, permits, outages, vendor availability) and help maintain near‑term schedules and look‑ahead plans.
  • Control quality and deficiency closure by identifying punch items, tracking closure status, and coordinating re‑inspections to verify completion.
  • Support commissioning readiness by verifying prerequisites, assisting with documentation organization, and helping resolve test‑blocking issues in advance of commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate with commissioning providers to execute commissioning efforts, track action items, document outcomes, and support issue resolution.
  • Update progress drawings of work put in place daily using Bluebeam and Excel.
Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of experience working on data center or other MEP systems in field/onsite settings (or equivalent education and experience).
  • Proven ability to execute consistently onsite: complete field‑based tasks, document findings clearly, and drive closure of assigned actions.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret client‑provided drawings and coordinate subcontractor work.
  • Comfort operating in client environments with high expectations and tight timelines.
  • Proficiency with common field/project tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, and Excel‑based trackers.
Physical Demands

Requirements to perform essential functions of this role: frequently manipulating small parts, devices, or tools; remaining stationary; moving through office and critical facilities, including tight and confined spaces; occasionally assisting with general labor and clean‑up; exposure to low/high temperatures and outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind; walking on different terrains on active construction sites; ascending and descending stairs and ladders;
