Preschool Teachers (2yrs old - 4yrs old)
Full-time position.
The SAE School is an independent school located in the Northwest metro Atlanta area.
Responsibilities- Go above and beyond for our children without fail.
- Arrive on time for the work day.
- Communicate with parents continuously.
- Work after hours and on weekends when necessary.
- Control and manage the students at all times.
- Be creative and provide solutions to problems and challenges.
- Enjoy the work environment and implement ways to make it better each day.
- Foster an open, friendly, and cooperative relationship with each child and family.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Teach foundational literacy and foundational math skills to mastery.
- Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore and manipulate during learning activities and in imaginative play.
- Establish and enforce high expectations for behavior, and procedures for maintaining order.
- Organize each day’s activities to provide children with a variety of experiences and opportunities that allow them to develop curiosity, initiative, problem‑solving skills, and creativity.
- Organize and lead activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development such as games, arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and learning centers.
- Meet with parents and guardians for parent/teacher conferences to discuss their children’s progress and needs, and suggest ways they can promote learning and development.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
- Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to children and parents.
- Arrange indoor and outdoor space to facilitate creative play, motor‑skill activities, and safety.
- Administer tests to help determine children’s developmental levels, needs, and potential.
- Attend staff meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops to maintain and improve professional competence.
- Come to work on time, enthusiastic, committed, and professionally prepared every day.
- Be able to lift a 15‑30 pound child frequently throughout the day.
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
- First Aid/CPR certified.
- Minimum 6 months experience in a licensed center.
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices.
- Strong written and communication skills.
- Maintain current credentials.
- Be familiar with the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) code of ethics.
- Must pass State of Georgia and FBI background checks.
- Must be able to kneel, stoop, squat, and stand for a long time, and engage in activities such as jumping, dancing, walking, and running.
- All applicants must pass a criminal background check.
