Marketing Manager, Marketing Communications
Job Summary
The Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive and multi-channel marketing plans for the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta’s products and programs. He/She will increase brand awareness and market penetration for Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta programs by expanding the reach in existing customer segments and developing new consumer acquisition programs. He/She will work cross functionally to drive internal and external communications, facilitate promotions, and maximize ROI through qualitative and quantitative research, sales and trend analysis and an in-depth understanding of consumer insights.
As a member of the Marketing and Communications Department, the Marketing Manager reports to the Director of Marketing. The Marketing Manager must be highly motivated, hands‑on, self‑directed, creative, enthusiastic, and possess a positive can‑do attitude. They must enjoy working in a collaborative, high‑pressure, fast‑paced, and deadline‑oriented environment. This position also requires superior project management skills and seasoned decision‑making—able to anticipate needs and elevate concerns maturely while delivering exceptional customer service, supporting a wide range of projects and activities, and consistently producing the highest quality work.
Responsibilities- Develops and manages internal and external marketing campaigns and projects for Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta Council
- Coordinate production of print and web materials including direct mail, brochures, landing pages, donor materials and other collateral by working with graphic or web designers and printers
- Write and coordinate email blasts to members, donors and community at large
- Lead efforts to develop and execute customer lead generation and pipeline growth, including members and donors
- Stay abreast of the competitive landscape, environmental impacts and consumer behaviors
- Identifies current and emerging trends and integrate into applicable strategies
- Monitors progress to goals and objectives through regular status reporting
- Manages intricate and high‑visibility projects and strategic partnerships
- Develops strong relationships with Girl Scout network and key partners
- Use data, including surveys, focus groups, polls and other primary and secondary methods to assess communication effectiveness
- Works with Marketing Department to create and maintain communications and production calendars and project timelines
- Executes additional duties as assigned
Must be highly motivated, creative, and possess a positive can‑do attitude. Comfortable working in a collaborative, high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment with limited supervision, and able to manage deadlines and priorities effectively.
- 5 years of successful strategic brand and program marketing and communications experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or related field
- Experience in project management process from concept through execution
- Experience in managing toward membership, participant or fundraising goals
- Strong research skills
- Uses marketing and communications best practices to solve difficult problems in imaginative ways
- Excellent oral and presentation communications skills
- Strong writing skills, able to quickly create content in multiple styles for print or digital media, including articles, collateral, video scripts, interviews, and more. Experience in donor‑centric writing a plus
- Strong organizational, proofreading and editing skills
- Strong problem‑solving abilities
- Advanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite—including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as proficient Internet research skills
- Ability to function with limited supervision
- Strong attention to detail
- Experienced in branding, collateral development and video production
- Must be comfortable dialoguing with executive‑level management
- Excellent time‑management skills
- Should have a good understanding of the creative process and be able to work well with a graphics team
- Must be comfortable working with youth, volunteers and parents
- Collaborative work style
- Unquestionable ethics and integrity
- Must have a strong portfolio that demonstrates experience
- 10% travel nationally and within 34 County Service Area
- Spanish Language Fluency a plus
- Must be comfortable working on‑call during nights and evenings and working some evenings and weekends
- Agency and/or non‑profit experience a plus
Must successfully complete an MVR, credit and criminal background check.
