Previous Travel experience strongly preferred.
A 13 week contract is required during surge season (Oct‑March) BEFORE a candidate can be considered for PRN shifts during non‑peak months.
Program CommitmentTeam Members are required to complete: 1 (one) 13‑week assignment between Oct 1st – March 31st (surge season) each year, with the option to work additional 8‑13 week contracts in between.
While on assignment, Team Members will be scheduled 36 hours/week.
Team Members function under a contingency staffing model as a PRN Team Member (since only held to 1 contract per year), with no guaranteed hours and no benefits offered.
All scheduling is done at the unit level, with no self scheduling.
Team Members are required to work 3 (three) Mondays and/or Fridays, and 3 (three) Saturdays and/or Sundays in a 4‑week scheduling period.

- Emergency Department is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers who ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment that is administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders and is supported through the Well Star Shared Governance Model. The framework for practice is steered by the Well Star Professional Practice Model, 5-Star Nursing and evidence-based practice and research.
RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by the Well Star Core Competencies. It is expected that all Internal Agency RN Clinical Nurses are licensed, knowledgeable and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association.
As a member of the patient services team, it is expected that the individual maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by effectively communicating information, responding to requests, building rapport, participating in team problem solving methods, and upholding system policies and procedures while supporting service excellence goals.
- Perform the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, evaluation) in clinical care.
- Use evidence‑based practice, analytical and critical thinking to ensure individualized care and coordinate care through effective partnerships.
- Provide relationship‑based, patient‑centered care that reflects cultural diversity and adapts to population‑specific characteristics.
- Partner with patients and significant others to set goals via bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, just‑in‑time and planned teaching.
- Practice current clinical practice standards and promote professional care delivery models.
- Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care, utilizing interdisciplinary communication methods.
- Demonstrate teamwork, fiscal responsibility, and promote recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
- Participate in performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance at all system levels.
- Complete all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required education.
- Serve as preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses, staff, and students.
- Promote evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement initiatives.
