Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service and support smooth transactional experiences.
  • Greet and interact with customers, process transactions accurately, and maintain a welcoming store environment.
  • Follow cashier script to assist customers and educate them on loyalty programs, the RK Visa card, and the RK Plus Protection Plan.
  • Execute cash management, return, layaway, and exchange policies.
  • Communicate professionally and upbeat with customers and associates.
  • Provide product information and answer inquiries, offering recommendations when appropriate.
  • Coordinate with loaders to respond to customer requests.
  • Handle price dispute resolution and maintain timely, accurate cash registers.
  • Stand in front of registers when not engaged in a transaction to assist customers.
  • Promote benefits of the Rural King loyalty program and the RK Visa card.
  • Answer incoming calls with impeccable phone etiquette, identifying the store and yourself as a Rural King representative.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of registers and filing of paperwork.
  • Deactivate EAS devices or spider‑wrap products as needed.
  • Maintain awareness to prevent shrink and assure a safe, positive environment.
  • Perform supporting tasks such as stocking coolers, cleaning windows, refilling popcorn and coffee stations, and keeping carts and restrooms clean.
  • Use general office equipment: telephone, copy machine, fax machine, calculator, and computer.
  • Participate in cross‑training for flexibility in various departments.
  • Engage in training programs, workshops, and webinars to stay current and improve skills.
  • Provide friendly, proactive, and professional support to colleagues and customers.
  • Demonstrate Rural King’s values:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
  • Maintain a seated or standing position for extended periods.
  • Lifting, pushing, and/or pulling a minimum of 30 pounds repetitively and 31‑50 pounds intermittently.
  • Navigate and access all facilities.
  • Effective verbal communication in person and via electronic devices.
  • Close vision for computer‑related tasks.
