This is a full time, permanent position, working a flexible 36.5 hour week, Monday – Friday.
As a Lead Scientist you will lead and manage an off‑site Professional Scientific Staffing (PSS) team of analytical staff to ensure that team is operating at the highest quality and productivity standards, have high morale and retention, and the agreed customer requirements are entirely satisfied and that customer expectations are met or exceeded through effective leadership and quality operational management. This person will be the key point of contact for the client on a day‑to‑day basis.
Job Responsibilities- You will provide analytical support for Eurofins’ drug substance manufacturing and method development projects, delivering high‑quality analytical testing in line with client and regulatory requirements.
- You will perform project analysis, method development activities, forced degradation studies, proof of concept validation work, and data interpretation to support scientific objectives.
- You will contribute to the authoring and review of key analytical documentation, including Analytical Testing Plans, method protocols, and validation protocols, according to your skills and experience.
- You will work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring accurate, innovative, and timely delivery of analytical solutions.
- You will apply strong technical expertise and problem‑solving skills to investigate challenges, think logically, and develop effective scientific approaches to complex projects.
- You will communicate scientific findings and ideas effectively with internal and external stakeholders while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and professional development within Eurofins.
- You will hold a degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry and have a strong fundamental knowledge of chemistry, particularly organic chemistry and analytical science.
- You will have experience in pharmaceutical analysis within a development laboratory, with knowledge of pharmaceutical development, quality control environments, and the drug development process being advantageous.
- You will have experience of modern analytical techniques, including HPLC and GC, with method development and validation experience highly desirable and knowledge of techniques such as NMR, LC‑MS, IC, and ICP‑MS considered an advantage.
- You will have knowledge of raw materials, intermediates, drug substance analysis, and peptide chemistry, alongside a strong understanding of GMP requirements and best practices within a regulated environment.
- You will have proven troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and technical skills, with the ability to learn new processes quickly, work effectively using electronic systems and Microsoft Office applications, and adapt to changing priorities.
