Full time, permanent position working a flexible 36.5 hour week, Monday – Friday. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Position Overview

As a Lead Scientist you will lead and manage an off‑site Professional Scientific Staffing (PSS) team of analytical staff to ensure the team operates at the highest quality and productivity standards, maintains high morale and retention, and meets or exceeds customer requirements. You will act as the key point of contact for the client on a day‑to‑day basis.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide analytical support for Eurofins’ drug substance manufacturing and method development projects, delivering high‑quality analytical testing in line with client and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform project analysis, method development activities, forced degradation studies, proof of concept validation work, and data interpretation to support scientific objectives.
  • Contribute to the authoring and review of key analytical documentation, including Analytical Testing Plans, method protocols, and validation protocols.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring accurate, innovative, and timely delivery of analytical solutions.
  • Apply strong technical expertise and problem‑solving skills to investigate challenges, think logically, and develop effective scientific approaches to complex projects.
  • Communicate scientific findings and ideas effectively with internal and external stakeholders while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and professional development within Eurofins.
Qualifications
  • Hold a degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry with a strong fundamental knowledge of chemistry, particularly organic chemistry and analytical science.
  • Have experience in pharmaceutical analysis within a development laboratory, with knowledge of pharmaceutical development, quality control environments, and the drug development process advantageous.
  • Have experience of modern analytical techniques, including HPLC and GC, with method development and validation experience highly desirable and knowledge of techniques such as NMR, LC‑MS, IC, and ICP‑MS considered an advantage.
  • Possess knowledge of raw materials, intermediates, drug substance analysis, and peptide chemistry, alongside a strong understanding of GMP requirements and best practices within a regulated environment.
  • Have proven troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and technical skills, with the ability to learn new processes quickly, work effectively using electronic systems and Microsoft Office applications, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Have excellent communication, organisational, and documentation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and clients, work independently and collaboratively, and demonstrate a passion for quality, customer service, and delivering results in a fast‑paced Eurofins environment.
