Material Handler

The Material Handler performs and controls all necessary movement of materials and ensures the accuracy of counts, paperwork, and procedures related to product. The Material Handler is accountable for proper location and counts in all containers. They report directly to the department supervisor they are assigned to, as well as the Manufacturing Managers and Executives.

• Inspect and complete tow motor checklist before operating the tow motor, turn into the Maintenance Department
• Ensure chips, dross and scrap is handled and disposed of in appropriate place
• Make sure proper Shop Order Cards are available at machines for the part number running
• Ensure parts are delivered to proper location per Shop Order Card, and that card is filled out with correct clock number and count attached to all product before removing
• Assist with any material movement needed in entire plant
• Ensure that baskets are always closed before moving, report any unsafe or damaged baskets to the Foreman
• Report all non-conformance and rejections to the Foreman
• Enter accurate counts into company computer system
• Move machinery as necessary
• Confirm that only clean baskets are delivered and used in production
• Verify that tare weights on baskets are accurate and legible
• For Final Inspection, ensure no material is moved from final inspection without Quality Control Inspector initials/date or stamp/date

• 2 years recent related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant industry/product experience
• Proficient in operation of scales and use of computer to print out necessary paperwork
