Delivery Helper-2nd Shift

Position Summary

Penske Logistics is looking for delivery helpers that will assist delivery drivers in moving product from the back of a truck to our customer’s location.

$21.00/hr.

This is a night position with a typical start time of 3:00 PM until finished. The number of stops per night (14-16) and weekly hours (about 47) will be discussed with the manager during hiring.

Helpers unload at each stop using a hand truck, moving and rearranging freight, breaking down pallets, and delivering both cold product (dairy) and ambient items. Some stores may be open during delivery.

• Assist driver with loading/unloading up to 50 lbs/23 kg and frequently lift or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg with assistance.
• Interact professionally and courteously with customers.
• Read bills of lading, identify products, and collect delivery receipts.
• Provide navigational assistance to the driver as needed.

• Prior customer service experience directly with customers (required).
• Prior warehouse or dock experience (preferred).
• Prior delivery assistance experience (preferred).
• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Ability to work in non‑climate‑controlled environments (required).
• Regular, predictable, full attendance (essential).
• Willingness to travel as needed, work required schedule and location, complete the Penske employment application, and pass background and drug screening.

• The job involves moving, standing, walking, sitting, using hands to handle and reach; must regularly lift/move up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally up to 300 lbs/45 kg.
• Must remember and follow instructions, read, see, and verbally communicate. Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
