Wide Format Digital Press Trainee
The Wide Format Digital Press Trainee is an entry-level position responsible for learning and assisting in the operation of wide format digital printing equipment. This role supports the production team in producing high-quality printed graphics, signage, and related products while developing the skills needed to become a fully independent operator. This position pays $15 to $18 an hour, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the setup and operation of wide format digital printers (roll-to-roll, flatbed, etc.)
- Learn proper material handling including vinyl, banner, rigid substrates, and specialty media
- Load and unload materials and printed products safely and efficiently
- Support print production by preparing files, checking layouts, and staging jobs
- Monitor print quality and report any defects or inconsistencies
- Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning under supervision
- Assist with finishing tasks such as trimming, laminating, and mounting
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all company safety procedures and production guidelines
- Work collaboratively with production, design, and installation teams
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in printing, manufacturing, or production is required
- Advanced computer skills and willingness to learn print software and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to read and interpret job tickets and work instructions
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Lift and move materials up to 50 lbs
- Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of large print materials
Work Schedule
- Full-time position
- Overtime may be required based on production needs
Compensation
- Hourly position (based on experience) $15 to $18 an hour
