Grinder Operator
The Grinder Operator sets up, operates, and monitors grinding equipment to finish metal or manufactured components according to customer specifications and established quality standards. This role suits a safety-conscious, detail-oriented professional who takes pride in producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate surface and hand grinding machines to finish metal or manufactured components according to production requirements.
- Monitor grinding operations to ensure parts meet specified dimensions, tolerances, and surface finish standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production instructions to determine grinding requirements and proper machine settings.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to perform routine inspections and verify part dimensions.
- Adjust machine settings and grinding parameters as needed to maintain quality and meet customer specifications.
- Follow work instructions, blueprints, and specifications accurately throughout the production process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations.
- Work collaboratively with team members and communicate any issues related to quality, equipment, or production flow.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while operating grinding equipment and handling materials.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance and a strong work ethic to support consistent production output.
Essential
Skills:
- Proven ability to operate grinding equipment, including surface and hand grinders, in a manufacturing environment (previous experience preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production instructions.
- Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges for routine inspections.
- Strong attention to detail and a clear commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Basic math and measurement skills to calculate and verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Ability to follow detailed work instructions, blueprints, and specifications accurately.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Reliable attendance and a strong, consistent work ethic.
Additional Skills &
Qualifications:
- Experience working in a fast-paced production or general labor environment.
- Comfort using micrometers and calipers (Mics & Cals) for precision measurements.
- Strong safety awareness in a manufacturing setting.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving production requirements and processes.

Work Environment:
This role is based in a fast-paced manufacturing facility operating on a first-shift schedule. Typical hours are Monday through Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. You will work with grinding equipment, including surface and hand grinders, and regularly use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
The environment is production-focused, where adherence to safety procedures and proper use of equipment and tools is essential.

Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
