Job Details- Job Title: Travel Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) – Days
- Location: Machias, Maine (On-site) – Downeast coastal community with easy access to outdoor recreation
- Contract Dates: 04/06/2026 – 07/06/2026
- Duration: 13-week travel contract (option to extend based on facility needs)
- Hours: 40 hours/week
- Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts
- Call: Required; 45-minute arrival time
- Setting: Critical access hospital Operating Room (OR) with PACU support
- Experience: Recent Operating Room RN experience (circulating and scrubbing required)
- Ability to support PACU Phase I recovery and post-anesthesia care as needed
- Comfort working in a critical access hospital with a broad surgical case mix
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and the perioperative services team
- Commitment to patient- and family-centered care, safety, infection prevention, and confidentiality
- Preferred Certification: CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room)
- Deliver safe, effective, high-quality perioperative nursing care across the surgical continuum
- Perform circulating RN and scrub RN duties, anticipating surgeon and team needs
- Support PACU Phase I recovery, including post-anesthesia monitoring and patient stabilization as needed
- Maintain sterile technique, complete accurate surgical counts, and follow infection control standards
- Coordinate with anesthesia, surgeons, and perioperative staff to support efficient patient flow and optimal outcomes
- Assist with cases across multiple specialties, including general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, podiatry, OB-GYN, pain management, urology, and endoscopy
- Document care accurately and comply with facility policies, privacy standards, and professional practice guidelines
