Accountant I
ResponsibilitiesEmployees in this classification are entry‑level professional accountants who apply accounting principles and practices to a limited range of accounting, budgeting, and/or other fiscal functions. They work under general supervision. The primary purpose of this position is to perform financial compliance activities involving the review, analysis, approval, and processing of payment transactions. Expenditures must be properly documented, authorized, accurately coded for financial statement reporting, and processed in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

- Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
- Pre‑graduation applicants are welcome; the degree must be conferred at the time of application unless the applicant is in the final semester of a degree program, in which case the degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.
- The degree must be from a regionally accredited institution or an equivalent accredited institution.
