APPOINTMENT:
Full-time, tenure-track appointment beginning August 20, 2026

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate instruction in both traditional in-person and online formats in the areas detailed below. A minimum teaching load of 3/3 is required. Candidates are expected to maintain an active research agenda consistent with AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) qualification. Service to the School, College, University, profession, and community is expected, including engagement with external business and industry stakeholders.

RANK & SALARY:
Assistant Professor, 9-month appointment. $8,456 - $9,396 per month, commensurate with experience.

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • An earned terminal degree (Ph.D. or D.B.A.) in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Management Science, Economics, Decision Sciences, or a closely related quantitative business field from an AACSB-accredited institution. ABD candidates may be considered if degree completion is expected prior to appointment.
  • Demonstrated industry experience in business or academic coursework and credentials in business.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach in both in-person and online formats, with a commitment to high-quality, student-centered instruction.
  • Demonstrated potential for maintaining Scholarly Academic (SA) qualification under AACSB standards, including an emerging or established program of peer-reviewed research.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated commitment to teaching, research, and service.
  • Commitment to student success consistent with the mission and values of Western Illinois University.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Established record of high-quality scholarship in business analytics or related areas consistent with AACSB SA qualification.
  • Independent teaching experience in business courses, analytics, quantitative methods, or data science.
  • Proficiency with statistical and analytics software such as R, Python, STATA, SAS, SQL, or Power

    BI.
  • Ability to teach specialized courses:
    Forecasting, Regression, Data Mining, Big Data, Statistical Software, MBA Forecasting & Planning.
  • Experience integrating real-world datasets, experiential learning, or industry-based analytics projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with business and industry partners, support student consulting projects, or supervise applied analytics initiatives.
  • Professional certifications such as SAS Certification, Google Analytics, Tableau, AWS Machine Learning, or Microsoft Data Analyst.
For a degree to be considered, it must be conferred from a regionally accredited degree-granting institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body). Unless otherwise stated, the degree must be conferred at the time of appointment.
