• Lead the WIU Infant and Preschool Center, overseeing day‑to‑day supervision, instructional coaching, planning and implementing all operational aspects, budgeting, grant coordination, ECACE workforce support, community liaison and committee participation, ensuring compliance and instructional quality. Fulfill fundraising and philanthropic support duties and promote diverse family engagement.

10‑month appointment. $44,000 – $46,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

• 3 or more years as a Gateways Level 5 or PEL qualified early childhood teacher (Birth‑Grade
  2) in a linguistically diverse school or community setting
• Understanding of Illinois birth‑to‑three and 3‑5 early childhood systems
• Familiarity with the ECACE scholarship program and current legislation supporting the Early Childhood Workforce Pipeline
• Basic knowledge of the Gateways system and credentials
• Experience working with community and family organizations
• Self‑motivated, independently efficient worker who can organize multiple tasks
• Excellent verbal, written, and digitally managed communication skills; interpersonal communication using a trauma‑informed and culturally/linguistically responsive approach
• Public speaking and presentation experience, including comfort with virtual platforms
• Team‑oriented approach; ability to listen, acknowledge, and encourage students through higher education pathways while serving as an incumbent worker
• Commitment to treating all students, children, and family members with kindness and respect, regardless of cultural, linguistic, racial, religious, gender, socioeconomic, or family differences
• Aware of personal belief systems and bias when working with students and team members, including graduate assistants and student workers
• Awareness of the unique challenges and assets of student‑incumbent workers
• Basic technology skills, including use of Google Suite tools and ability to use technology for optimal mentoring services
• Ability to complete documentation and operational duties in a comprehensive and timely manner
• Preferred experience as a lead teacher or leadership role within a school, community organization, or non‑profit
• Must hold a degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education (or equivalent from an international accrediting body); degree must be conferred at the time of appointment unless otherwise stated
