Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer with 2+ years of experience in adult echocardiography and vascular ultrasound for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment.
Responsibilities- Acute care hospital setting in a Cardiopulmonary/Ultrasound unit
- Performs adult cardiac echocardiography and vascular studies as primary focus; pediatric scanning ability is a plus but not required
- Charting system:
Cerner - 8-hour day shifts, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- 36 hours per week
- Performs diagnostic cardiac echo and vascular studies on adult patients under the general supervision of the Leader of Cardiopulmonary
- Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff to develop patient care plans and provide patient and family education on Cardiopulmonary Department procedures
- Works with a diverse patient population including those with varying cultural backgrounds, pain management needs, and complex diagnoses such as congestive heart failure
- Equipment includes various ultrasound imaging systems, physiologic Doppler systems, EKG acquisition machines, Holter monitors, stress testing equipment, stethoscopes, and sphygmomanometers
- Knowledge of IAC accreditation is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of sonography experience with both Echo and Vascular required
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- RDCS-AE (Adult Echocardiography) via ARDMS required
- RVT via ARDMS required; registration in Adult Vascular and Echo via ARDMS or CCI also accepted
- Graduate of an approved Allied Health program with additional training in ultrasound procedures
- Knowledge of cardiac and vascular anatomy required for ultrasound procedures
- Must be able to perform portable studies, including pushing ultrasound equipment and positioning transducers for extended exams
- License required if applicable
