PREP AIDE

JOB KNOWLEDGE:

Is knowledgeable regarding policies and procedures, PPE's, universal precautions, duties during a disaster, and MSDS information, all on-line/computer. The patient population must be considered when assessing job knowledge required by the employee.

• Expected pay for this position is $17.55-$23.69. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.

  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    
    Will receive on-the-job training. Required to have current BLS or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire date.
• ABILITIES, INTERESTS AND TEMPERAMENTS
  • Verbal ability is needed to interpret and understand instructions and to communicate with other caregivers.
  • Numerical ability is needed to correctly tally patient's I & O.
  • Visual acuity is needed to assist and monitor patients.
  • Ability to read and write is needed for documentation on patient records.
  • Ability to adapt and follow directions in a composed manner during emergency situations.
  • Empathy and consideration is needed to deal with patients and their family members.
  • Must have the ability to work with a variety of patients of all populations (e.g. developmentally appropriate care, cultural diversity, patients with pain, victims of abuse or neglect, and diagnosis or procedure specific such as patient with congestive heart failure or cesarean delivery).
