Job Summary

The Operating Room Aide provides non-licensed support to the perioperative services department by assisting with operating room preparation, room turnover, supply management, equipment transport, specimen transport, and other support functions that promote efficient surgical services. The Operating Room Aide works under the direction of the Registered Nurse, Surgical Services Leader, Charge Nurse, or Surgical Technologist and contributes to a safe, clean, and efficient environment while allowing licensed staff to focus on direct patient care.

This position may be cross-trained to assist in other departments based on organizational needs.

Job Specifications

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to safely lift, transport, and move equipment and supplies.

Preferred
  • Previous healthcare experience.
  • Previous operating room, central sterile, environmental services, or patient care support experience.
