Radiology Aide/Patient Transporter

Expected pay for this position is $16.22-$21.90. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. MDH benefits package includes:

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Radiology Leader, performs patient transport and x-ray film related duties in a timely manner. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. Recognizes the purpose of employment is to prioritize the patient as number one and to put forth the utmost quality in duties performed as an aide/patient transporter.

Job Specifications:

Education and experience:

High school graduate. Experience in patient transport techniques or equivalent applicable experience. Job knowledge:
Must be able to transport and transfer patients in a safe and courteous manner. Be able to change oxygen tanks when needed. Have sufficient knowledge of patient care and sterile techniques to deal with all types of conditions and patients. The patient population must be considered when assessing job knowledge required from the employee. Abilities, interests and temperament:
Verbal ability is necessary to understand oral and written instructions stated in radiological and medical terms and to exchange information with patients and hospital staff. Manual dexterity is necessary to adjust, arrange, and attach patient supportive devices. Ability to make contact with people who may be under physical and/or emotional stress. Must have the ability to work with a variety of patients of all populations (e.g. developmentally appropriate care, cultural diversity, patients with pain, victims of abuse or neglect, and diagnosis or procedure specific such as patient with congestive heart failure or cesarean delivery).
