Bridgeway is looking for Community Living Coaches/DSP to support adults with developmental, intellectual, psychiatric, and other disabilities. The Coach encourages them to explore their goals and chart their journeys, promoting a full, active life within the community. This role reports to the Community Housing Coordinator.
Responsibilities- Implement selected aspects of the consumer-centered plans with focus on skills training in basic survival and daily independent living skills.
- Promote and provide activities that develop social and leisure skills within the home environment and through linkage with external community resources.
- Develop a respectful helping and supportive relationship with each consumer to promote recovery and reintegration into the mainstream of community living.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid driver license with acceptable driving history and reliable transportation.
- Direct Support Professional (DSP), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or similar experience is a plus.
- Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification, complete the Direct Support Person (DSP) credential and Medication training program.
- For mental health residential settings: minimum 21 years of age and required to meet Department of Mental Health (DMH) credentialing requirements of a Residential Services Associate (RSA). Not applicable to developmentally disabled settings.
