Position: General Manager
Salary: $45,000–$50,000
Job SummaryResponsible for the overall success of the hotel, meeting or exceeding revenue and profit objectives and ensuring guest satisfaction and product quality standards are met. Assists the General Manager in supervising all areas of the hotel in accordance with brand and company standards to achieve a friendly atmosphere of superior guest service and product quality. Provides exemplary performance for staff to follow.
Responsibilities- Financial:
- Achieve budgeted revenue and profit goals.
- Accurately forecast revenue and expenses.
- Anticipate revenue/cost problems and manage discretionary expenditures to stabilize cash flow.
- Analyze financial and operational information on an ongoing basis to adjust plans, labor requirements, and operating costs.
- Ensure staff training in financial control procedures for cash, vouchers, inventories, and receivables.
- Produce accurate, timely financial reports.
- Identify major revenue and expense opportunities.
- Forecast occupancy changes based on market conditions.
- Human Resource Management:
- Manage recruiting, selection, orientation, training, performance planning and evaluation.
- Maintain a positive, cooperative work environment.
- Ensure all employees understand hotel objectives.
- Maintain accurate personnel files in compliance with laws and company regulations.
- Administer personnel policies, pay procedures, and benefits.
- Ensure training objectives and development plans are completed.
- Associate Team:
- Maintain guest service as the driving philosophy of the hotel.
- Respond to guests' needs and demonstrate a commitment to guest service.
- Ensure staff are trained to meet and exceed service standards.
- Develop added value customer service programs.
- Recognize good team performance through reward and recognition.
- Ensure delivery of consistent guest service.
- Be aware of current guest service scores and understand guest comments and needs; participate in achieving the GSS goals.
- Operations:
- Know local health and safety codes and regulations.
- Ensure employees complete departmental checklists.
- Recognize and correct potential safety and security hazards.
- Adhere to key control system policies and procedures.
- Maintain physical product standards through preventative maintenance and deep‑clean activities.
- Protect hotel interests during capital projects.
- Marketing and Sales Management:
- Develop and implement marketing and sales plans based on demand segments.
- Ensure plans are appropriate for each sales period, including special plans for low occupancy periods.
- Know key accounts and actively sell through calls, property tours.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties assigned; must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and pass as an approved driver.

The hotel operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Shift changes may be required to meet guest needs. Employees must comply with all hotel rules and regulations; violations may result in disciplinary action up to termination.
